Lal Kuan to Dadri in the Fast Lane: ₹2,000 Cr Corridor Approved

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has kicked off feasibility studies for a new 12-kilometer, six-lane elevated corridor between Lal Kuan and Dadri. The ₹2,000-crore project aims to provide long-awaited traffic relief on one of Uttar Pradesh’s most congested stretches of GT Road.

Originating near the intersection of NH-9 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway at Lal Kuan, the elevated highway will bypass bottlenecked surface routes connecting Ghaziabad, Noida, and Aligarh. The current 4-lane road handles over 35,000 vehicles daily, leading to frequent gridlock.

Following directives from Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, NHAI is accelerating preliminary work toward a Detailed Project Report (DPR). The high-capacity corridor will also streamline travel to the Noida International Airport via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, serving as a viable elevated alternative after surface-widening efforts stalled due to land acquisition challenges.
